The Value of Cyber Essentials
Cyber Essentials is a government-endorsed initiative, offering strong protection against a wide array of the most prevalent cyber-attacks that many organizations experience. It acts as a shield, helping businesses defend against online threats and keep their data safe. It is split up into two levels of certification: Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus. Both give a comprehensive perspective on how to prevent cyber-attacks except Cyber Essentials Plus is equipped with a hands-on verification process for added security assurance.
invenioLSI's Approved Security Framework
Cyber Essentials assessment involved examining various important aspects of invenioLSI’s information security framework. The report found that invenioLSI successfully connected only vendor-supported OS, devices, and software, including BYOD (Bring your own devices) to the network with timely updates of high-risk security updates and removal of unsupported devices, etc.
invenioLSI accurately implemented role-based access rights, with timely removal when necessary, along with separate IT administrator logins for regular user activities, administrative tasks, and password management initiatives. InvenioLSI's password practices aligned with character count requirements, with updates if compromised or account lockout after multiple failed attempts as well as adherence to policies governing firewalls, laptops, servers, administrators, and users. And lastly, invenioLSI effectively implemented multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all third-party user cloud services.
